CRAFTING RULES

Engineers are able to create devices from components

Components can be sourced from the planet or salvaged from within the ship.

There are blueprints available for making certain devices as a starting point However these are only the most commonly known devices. Other devices can be designed and built by Engineers working in collaboration with each other. Engineers pride themselves on both the form and function of their devices and will often work together to make devices that are the best that they can be.

The Engineers Archivist is AI that contains blueprints for devices that have been created previously. Engineers can query to see if a similar device has been made and will either then receive the appropriate blueprints or can submit new blueprints to the archive. Submitting a new blueprint to the Archive is a great achievement as it furthers the progress of all Amazons. However not all new devices are successful. Indeed many older Engineers bare the scars from inadvisable creations.

Tools. When an Amazon chooses the path of the Engineers she will study with other Apprentices. Her apprenticeship ends with a final test. To build a unique tool. The creation and construction of these tools is a rite of passage and they are deeply precious to their Engineer. They cannot be used except by others she has a close and important bond to. Tools fall broadly into three categories:

Armoury - These are tools that can be used to repair the armour of a fallen Warrior. If a warrior falls at the feet of an Engineer on zero hits it will take one minute of appropriate roleplay for her to bring the Warrior up to one hit.

Bio-mechanics - Tools can be used to fix or build other devices or fix things faster or better. For example a laser screwdriver will allow her to open ship panels faster, hydro-pliers allow her to re-wire controls with greater delicacy.

Healing - Tools can be used to help heal or sustain life. For example a healing Creator may have created a salve that heals wounds in half the time.
